A great physical exam can sometimes tell us everything that we need to diagnose and treat your pet. However, more often than not some additional testing is required. At West End Veterinary Clinic we offer top of the line in house laboratory services including bloodwork, urinalysis, and cytology.

Does your dog have a lump you’ve been worried about for a while? Bring them in to have a Fine Needle Aspirate (FNA). This quick and painless procedure allows us to take just a few cells out of a growth, look at them under a microscope, and tell you in minutes whether or not it is something to be concerned about.

Is your cat losing a lot of weight? This is a very common symptom in older cats and can be caused by a number of diseases like hyperthyroidism, kidney disease, diabetes, inflammatory bowel disease, or cancer. Our senior profile will allow us to quickly determine the cause of your kitty’s weight loss and treat it accordingly.

For more complicated cases, blood or tissue samples can be sent out to our reference laboratory for further testing.
